Doreen | Lace-Up Faux Fur Winter Boots

Cold feet end an outing faster than anything else.

Not the rain, not the wind and not the distance; once your feet have gone the whole afternoon is effectively over and everyone turns for home. Doreen is lined through with faux fur from the toe right up to the top of the shaft, which is precisely the part that most winter boots quietly skip.

Lined end to end. The fur runs the full inside of the boot from the footbed to the top of the shaft rather than stopping short at the ankle. Your toes stay warm, which is where it actually matters.

Lace-up front. You can open the front right out to get the foot in, then pull it closed snugly around the ankle. Far easier than a stiff zip with cold hands.

Gripped sole. The tread is cut deep enough to hold on wet leaves, packed snow and the slick tile inside a shop doorway. It does not skate anywhere.

Padded collar. The top of the shaft is padded and soft against the leg rather than rigid and cutting in. It does not rub through a long walk.

There is a particular winter afternoon that only happens if your feet are warm enough to keep going. Everything else about the day follows from that.
