Wanda | Hooded Quilted Puffer Jacket

A puffer only works if the quilting is tight enough.

Loose quilting lets the padding drift down to the bottom of every panel, and the jacket ends up thin across the chest and lumpy at the hem. Wanda is stitched in narrow channels that hold the filling where it was put, which is what keeps a puffer looking right rather than tired.

Narrow quilted channels. The stitching runs close enough together to keep the padding evenly spread across every single panel. The warmth stays where you need it.

Attached hood. It is sewn on rather than zipped off, so it is always there on the morning you did not check the forecast. One less thing to go looking for.

Full-length zip. It closes from the hem right up under the chin, so the wind has nowhere left to get in at the neck. Faster than buttons with gloves on.

Padded through the body. The filling runs across the chest, the back and down both sleeves instead of stopping at the shoulder seam. Warm in the places that actually get cold.

Winter is long and a puffer gets worn most days of it, which makes it one of the few things in a closet that genuinely earns its keep. Getting the one that holds its shape matters more than the colour.
